What’s in the name “Sake Mom”?
In the traditional brewing process of sake, there is a crucial step called “shubo” (酒母) literally translated as “sake mother.” This stage is where active and healthy yeast is slowly and carefully nurtured, forming the foundation for high-quality sake production.
Inspired by this concept, Sake Mom India was named with the intention of patiently nurturing a new generation of Indian professionals, sommeliers, and enthusiasts with knowledge and respect for Japanese alcohol culture.
Just as the sake mother gives life to exceptional sake, Sake Mom exists to give life to a new community fostering connections, understanding, and cultural appreciation through every pour.
